Leaders Trophy

During my third Semester at University for my Bachelor degree, I had to do a Semester Project. For this project I was part of a team that consisted out of 4 people, Sandra Zecha (3D Artist & UI Design), Michael Brandt (3D Artist), Sophie Amelin (Development) and me (Development). Our goal was to create a Jump’n’Run game where you are able to make your opponents life harder. Out of this the idea for a game that consists out of a strategic part and a Jump’n’Run part was born. The game itself is a 3D Multiplayer game for two to 4 players. It gets controlled through PS4 controllers.

Strategic Part:
In the strategic part players see the map area through a top down view. This map area is the location on the map, where one of their opponents will start. By placing traps and walls, it’s up to the players how difficult they want to make the path to the middle for their opponent. The challenge is that not only their opponent, but also the player themselves has to run through the maze before being able to finish the game.

To prevent people from screen-cheating this part of the game got a time limitation of five minutes, so that the players are under time pressure.

Jump’n’Run Part:

In the Jump’n’Run part the players see their characters from a third person view. It is now the players goal to run as fast as possible to the middle of the map and to avoid the obstacles their opponents placed for them. After reaching the middle of the map, the first player who gets there will grab the almighty pineapple and run to his specific goal area, which is the starting location in the area where the player placed the obstacles. Players are able to punch each other in this part of the came by clashing into one another. For each hit a player loses one of their three lives. If a player loses all of their lives they will respawn at the specific checkpoint in their starting area, that they last passed.
